As with the knitting, beading is extremely popular. This is confirmed by the fact that we do not seem to be able to run enough classes to keep up with all our customers! The beads that we stock are a high quality glass bead, the majority come from Japan. When stringing or weaving you do not want sharp or jagged edges and this can be avoided in the main by using quality materials.

We carry a vast stock of seed beads and mixes, triangles, rounds, magatamas, daggers, drops, chips, cubes etc. etc. all in assorted colours and sizes, supported by a large range of jewellery findings, bead mats, pliers, cutters, threads and needles plus various gauges and colours of wire. We also have books, kits, beading looms and storage solutions for your beads.

Have you tried knitting or crochet with wire threaded with beads? Easier that it looks and the results are stunning. Chris, our ‘Mad Geordie Beader’ keeps coming up with all sorts of different ideas and techniques. She has created a wonderful array of jewellery which is on display in the shop and she is more than happy to pass on her skills in the workshops.
