About Us
We are a family business located in the centre of the lovely village of East Leake, Leicestershire.
Established in 1991, we like to think of ourselves as more than just a shop. With craft groups, workshops, and courses taking place every day, Quorn Country Crafts is a creative hub as much as a retail space. In 2018, we relocated to much larger premises set over two floors, with plenty of free parking close by. We’re surrounded by other traditional village shops, wonderful places to eat and drink, and beautiful walks across the nearby meadows.
We specialise in Patchwork & Quilting, Hand Knitting, and Needlework, stocking everything you need for your craft. Our fabric collection includes hundreds of bolts from leading design houses such as Moda, Benartex, Makower, Lewis & Irene, Clothworks, Henry Glass, and many more. There are far too many fabrics to feature on our website, so please feel free to contact us if you’re searching for something specific. We also offer a range of kits and patterns exclusive to Quorn Country Crafts.
Downstairs, you’ll find an extensive selection of hand knitting and crochet yarns, along with kits, patterns, books, and accessories from brands including Sirdar, King Cole, Baa, Erica Knight, Opal, Hooked, and DMC. Where possible, we also source more individual and specialist yarns.
Upstairs, we stock a complete range of embroidery floss and tapestry wools, as well as kits, speciality threads, fabrics, and accessories for cross stitch, long stitch, embroidery, and tapestry.
Sewing machines are a major part of our business. We display the full range of Pfaff sewing machines and overlockers, along with Janome machines. We firmly believe that buying a sewing machine should come with ongoing support—not a wave goodbye. When you purchase any sewing machine costing over £399, you’re invited to join us for a free day’s tuition* to help you get the very best from your new machine. We also run regular machine classes, and if you ever have a question, you can simply pick up the phone—every member of our team uses these machines and is happy to help.
*Two free days for embroidery machines, plus an additional day for software.
We also have a dedicated engineer who visits weekly to service and repair all makes of sewing machines and overlockers.
Hopefully, this gives you a glimpse into our world. With three generations involved in the business, we’re lucky enough to truly love what we do. Our workshops and courses are designed to be informative, relaxed, and friendly—offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of home and work. After all, we firmly believe that Craftfulness is the new Mindfulness… and it certainly works for us.
