Workshops & Courses

About Us

We are a family business located in the centre of the lovely village of East Leake in Leicestershire,

Established in 1991, we consider ourselves to be ‘More than just a shop’, with craft groups, workshops and courses taking place every day. In 2018 we re-located to much larger premises set over two floors, with plenty of free parking, and our neighbours are other traditional village shops, lovely places to eat and drink, plus delightful walks over the meadows.

We specialise in Patchwork & Quilting, Hand Knitting and Needlework, stocking everything you need for your craft including hundreds of bolts of fabrics from the leading design houses, for example Moda, Benartex, Makower, Lewis & Irene, Clothworks, Henry Glass….the list goes on and on. There are far too many fabrics to feature on our website so you can always contact us if there is a particular fabric you require. We also have a selection of kits and patterns exclusive to ourselves.

Downstairs, we have an excellent selection of Hand Knitting and Crochet yarns, kits, patterns, books and all accessories from Sirdar, King Cole, Baa, Erica Knight, Opal, Hooked, DMC etc., and we also source more individual yarns when available.

Upstairs there is a complete range of embroidery floss and tapestry wools, kits, speciality threads, fabrics and accessories for cross-stitch, long stitch, embroidery and tapestry.

In addition, we have the complete range of Pfaff Sewing Machines and overlockers on display plus Janome machines. This is a huge part of our business and we strongly believe that we do not wish to sell you a sewing machine and wave you ‘GoodBye’. When you buy any sewing machine costing over £399, you can join us for a days free tuition* so we can help you to get the most out of your purchase. In addition we have regular classes teaching you more about your machines and if you have a query, you can always just pick up the phone; all of us use these machines and will be able to help. *Two days for embroidery machines plus an additional day for Software.

We have an Engineer for the service and repair of your machines who calls weekly and covers all makes of machines and overlockers.

Hopefully this gives you a glimpse into our world; three generations are involved and we are lucky enough to love what we do. We aim to keep the workshops and courses very informative but also relaxed and friendly so you can spend an ideal day away from the hustle and bustle of home and work, after all, we are told that Craftfullness is the new Mindfullness. It definitely works for us!

Our opening hours are 9.30am-4pm Monday to Saturday (closed on Thursdays). Please pay us a visit; we are sure that you won’t be disappointed.
