Block of the Month ‘WELCOME HOME’ begins in November. Approx 45 x 60 inches

Happy days spent creating a new quilt.

Autumn seems a perfect time of year to embark on a new project; we begin to spend less time outside and want something to do during the longer evenings. This quilt is a combination of techniques: traditional patchwork, paper piecing, applique and embroidery; every month brings exciting new challenges.

This project is suitable for both beginners and more experienced stitchers.

The quilt is divided into six monthly packs, each having full size patterns and instructions to complete the blocks. The first month’s box includes a complete fabric pack for all the blocks, Coton a Broder threads for embroidery, Heat’n’Bond and any templates you may need. All you need to provide is sewing thread and you will obviously need a basic sewing kit. Each of the following months you will receive a pack with all relevant patterns, instructions template etc. to make more blocks, and the final month will include the border fabric, binding and full instructions to put the quilt top together plus guidance and ideas for quilting your finished masterpiece. You will also need to purchase wadding and backing fabric at this stage.

We are also offering two sessions on the launch day each month where you can come and collect your packs if you have not opted for them to be posted to you. We will then go through the instructions with you, help with cutting out, tracing the embroidery patterns etc. and answering any questions you may have. These places are obviously limited so will need to be booked. They take place on the first Thursday of each month beginning on November 7^th, the morning session runs from 9.30am-12 noon and the afternoon session runs from 12.30pm to 3pm. The cost for these sessions is £10. You do not need to come to any or all of these sessions to complete the quilt as the instructions are very comprehensive, but we know how nice it is to work with other people for a couple of hours and chat over tea and biscuits!

The cost for the six boxes is £165 payable on or before November 7^th.

The additional cost if you would like the packs sending by post is £4.95 per month.
