*GETTING TO KNOW YOUR SEWING & EMBROIDERY MACHINE

Unlock the full potential of your sewing and embroidery machine with this friendly, hands-on two-day workshop designed to help you stitch with confidence from the very beginning. Whether your machine is brand new or has been sitting waiting to be explored, this course will guide you through its features in a relaxed and supportive environment, giving you the knowledge and confidence to make the very most of your investment.

Day OneSewing with Confidence. We begin by getting to know the sewing functions of your machine while creating a beautiful, quilted project bag complete with a zip and decorative stitching. As you sew, you'll discover the practical features that make sewing easier and more enjoyable, learning how and when to use the different stitches, presser feet and settings available on your machine.

We'll also cover many of the everyday questions new owners have, including:

Understanding machine settings and stitch options, Achieving perfect tension, Sewing accurate seams and decorative stitches, Creating neat buttonholes, Routine maintenance, cleaning and caring for your machine, Changing needles and choosing the correct one for your project, Tips and techniques to help you avoid common sewing issues. By the end of the day you'll not only have a beautiful handmade project but also the confidence to use your sewing machine with ease.

Day TwoDiscover the Magic of Machine Embroidery. The second day is dedicated entirely to the exciting world of machine embroidery. If you've never owned an embroidery machine before, prepare to discover a whole new level of creativity! We'll guide you through every stage of the embroidery process, from choosing and hooping fabrics correctly to understanding stabilisers, threads, needles and embroidery settings. You'll learn how to prepare designs, achieve professional-looking results and explore the wonderful editing and creative functions built into your machine. Topics include: Correct hooping techniques, Understanding the different types of stabilisers and when to use them, Embroidery threads and needles, Positioning and editing embroidery designs, Combining designs and lettering, Built-in embroidery functions and creative features, Tips for achieving consistently beautiful embroidery…..plus many more hints and tips.

Throughout both days there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, revisit techniques and receive individual help. Our aim is for you to leave feeling inspired, confident and excited to continue your sewing and embroidery journey at home.
